Commercial EV Charger Case Study – British Red Cross

Commercial EV Charger Case Study – British Red Cross

25 August 2023

Customer: British Red Cross

What the customer requested

EV chargers for 8 new vans

EV chargers to be spaced along commercial loading bays

EV chargers to be wall-mounted

The Challenges

The engineers take the vans home so they need to charge the vehicles quickly while they load up on a morning to prevent wasted time.
The EV chargers needed to be spaced so they where in reach of the loading bays.

The Solutions

We installed duel 40 kwatt DC EV chargers which gives flexibility in that if the customer wanted a really quick charge they could stagger the arrival times and plug one vehicle in which would give a 40 kwatt charge or if they had a little bit longer loading time they could plug two vehicles in getting 20 kwatt each. The charging times would be between 1 – 2hrs which hugely reduced any waiting time and ultimately saved the customer money in wasted labour time.
